Tea Time

This is my post at the
Classy Cards 'n Such blog today.
You are welcome to use my discount code
DIANE-10 anytime to save 10% on your order.

I have a pretty card to share
that would be good for a tea loving friend.

I started with a pretty piece of somewhat vintage looking Rose paper
from Joy! 6 x 6 Romance paper pad for one side
and a piece of cream card stock embossed
using Anna Griffin Matelasse embossing folder for the other side.
A scrap of green ribbon was adhered down
between the two.

I know they are not even pieces, but I purposely
intended that, as I wanted to show more of the pretty designer paper.

The embossed oval is Sue Wilson Kefalonia from the Greek Island Collection.

I cut two sets of the PoppyStamps Teapot Stack,
one for the outline and one to fill in the negative space of the teapots.

I added dots around the teapots and colored the edge as well
of the oval using Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

I adhered a pretty pink sheer bow
which I then added Pink Mini Rose Buds.

Under each Rose I added tiny little leaves from
Impression Obsession Leaf Cluster.

To finish Le Creme Pearls were added.

Flowers at Fussy and Fancy

It's cool, very windy and rainy here...
a perfect time to do the "FLOWERS" challenge
at Fussy and Fancy this week.
Kind of takes the "almost winter" blues right out of you!
(Actually while writing this post I just noticed it is snowing out..
wet flakes, but snow..ugh)!!

This week our hostess is "Jo".....
and our sponsors are Sweet Lilac Flowers and Magnoilia-licious.

It just so happened I had this pretty paper pad on my desk
by The Paper Studio called Country Road.
It has gorgeous prints on it, mostly barn wood.
I based my entire creation on this gorgeous paper.

A Cherry Lynn Carnavale Border die was added to the top with a few white pearls.
I stamped a sentiment directly on the paper
using a JustRite stamp.
I know I have mentioned this before,
but I just LOVE JustRite stamps and the sentiments that come with them!

Flowers were added from my stash with a small
Cheery Lynn Doily that comes with the Polynesian Sails die.
I think it looks so cute under the Roses!
I added a bow, button, butterflies and more pearls to finish it off!

Here is a look at the inside

You really need to take a visit over to the Fussy and Fancy blog and see
what my teammates have created..really....they are gorgeous creations!!

Cabin In The Woods

This is my post at the
Dies R Us inspiration blog today!

Happy Thursday morning to you!
Seems I have a fondness for cabin dies,
seems I also have a fondness for tree dies.
Put the two together and you can't go wrong.

One of my Design Teammates inspired me to
by Memory Box.
Or should I say "enabled" me...!!

The one she used was the Grand Forest Archway die.
I want that one too.
They seem to intermix and work together.
And guess what?
There is also a Small Forest Archway to add,

I adhered the die cut to a scrap paper I had left over.
Bet you can't tell the backside is all pumpkins, can you?

The cabin and trees are from PoppyStamps.
A unique die called Bodington Cabin.
I cut it from a scrap piece laying on my desk.
I also cut it from white craft foam.
giving it that wonderful 3D look the foam adds.

For a pop of color I added red/white twine
with a newly purchased wood button!

Make sure and join us at our Dies R Us challenge blog.
The is more inspiration there and also a great prize up for grabs!

Thanks for visiting with me today!!

"FALL" at The Sisterhood of Crafters

Whew, can you believe October is almost behind us
and November will be showing up soon?
Which also brings us to a new challenge at

This time around our hostess is Dar and she has chosen the theme
"FALL" for our challenge!

Several years ago (and I mean several...how about 2007....lol)
I won a stamp set from Firecracker Designs.
It has this cute little scarecrow on it,
so he is the focus of my card today.

I colored him with Copics, fussy cut him out,
and stood him among a few pumpkins, leaves and grasses,
all cut from snippets of paper from my scrap bins!
(Do you know I have all my scrap papers
bagged and sorted by color...talk about OCD)!!

I used a background paper of Sunflowers, added a sentiment
which I thought was perfect for him.

Now head on over to The Sisterhood and be ready to be
totally inspired by my "Sistahs"

Friends

This is my post on the
for our challenge using the inspiration photo below.
You are welcome to use my discount code
anytime for a 10% discount on your order.

Hi, Diane with you today.
This week our challenge theme is Squirrel-y Friends.
We were to make a friend card with the option of adding a squirrel/bird.

I stamped a sentiment from JustRite Seeds of Summer,
thinking it was a perfect friendship message.

I used 2 of the 6 dies from the
popping the outer edge up.

The branch is Impression Obsession Pine Branch.
After adding a few branches from Memory Box Meadowbird Branch,
I used a Snow Marker to add puffs of snow.
I am sure you have seen me use this before,
but if you are not familiar with it,
you just dab it on, heat it with a heat gun
and it puffs up, adding snowy dimension.

I also added a bird from the same Meadowbird branch set.
Here is a closeup of the bird.

To finish I cut a birdhouse from  Impression Obsession Birdhouse set,
and a squirrel from Impression Obsession Squirrel set.

A few gold sequins were added to finish.

Hi, Diane with you today.
I am not sure where you live,
but it is really feeling like fall here.
Our pine trees have dropped hundreds and hundreds of pinecones,
a sure sign of what is to come...WINTER!!

The card I an showing today starts off with an ivory card stock base.
Next, I used a beautiful Echo Bronze Stardream Metallic card stock.
If you could see this in person, you would see how beautiful
this is with the metallic peeking through.

The next layer is Memory Box Pinecone Frame cut from
Graphic 45 French Country.
I love how the metallic paper shows through the pinecones and branch.

I added a sentiment from a Flourishes stamp set,
which was embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle Gold Detail Embossing Powder.

I added a few gold sequins for some texture.
Did you know you can make your own sequins?
You can using My Favorite Things Sequin die.
I love this, as I can have any colors, designs of sequins I want!

To finish, I added a metallic bow.

Candy Cane Christmas

This is my post on the
Dies R Us Inspiration blog today!

I seem to be on a roll with my Christmas card creating,
all the better as you know how busy you are during the holiday season.

I did a similar card layout like this one a week or so ago.
I liked it so much I decided to do another.

I used a designer paper for my background from
Lawn Fawn called Snowday!

I embossed a panel and adhered it to a red card stock
and placed both panels down the center.

first from white craft foam,
then again from red card stock.
I love using the craft foam under the dies as it adds
so much dimension!

I now have a quick and easy card perfect for mailing!

I think this die would be gorgeous cut from
glitter paper, too....
I just might have to gave that idea a try myself!

Visit us here on the inspiration blog to see many of
the dies in use Monday -  Friday.
Visit (and join in too) our Dies R Us challenge blog for a

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!

Today is the day the Design Team gets together at The Cutting Cafe blog
with our "SHAKER" cards for Halloween and/or Autumn!

I have to say Regina, the designer  and the owner of  The Cutting Cafe
has created the most fun and cutest shaker card files..!!
They come in a PDF format, so if you don't have a cutting machine
you can still use them, by cutting by hand.

The one I used today is from the Halloween Shaker Cards Set.
You can purchase them individually or as a set

I finally used my new  Cricut Explore to cut my card.
That machine has been sitting on my desk for over a year,
and I decided at last minute to "dust it off"
and use it!
I think it has intimidated me way too long!!

I watched a few videos (Regina has one as well) to show me
how to bring SVG files into it.....
I think I am going to love that thing...
it cut those spider legs out so fast and accurate.....love!

Speaking of spiders....
isn't this just the cutest shaker card??

I made mine "girlie" by adding a bow to her head.
I didn't stop there  though,
I sponged ink around her head and eyes,
and added google eyes to her...
I was thinking (scarey I know) that wouldn't she be cute
with fake eyelashes....too funny!!

I did print the "eek" ring on my printer,
then used Memory Box Stitched Circle die
to cut it out both on the inside of
the ring and outside
(love those stitches on the outer ring)!

Her shaker contents has the cutest little ghost and pumpkin inside
as well as sequins and glitter!

Well, now I hope you will visit The Cutting Cafe and see what
the rest of the DT has to inspire you....check out all the shaker cards
on the store site...they are "fabby"!!

Peace On Earth

This is my post on the
for our weekly challenge using the inspiration
photo below.
You are welcome to use my code DIANE-10
anytime to save 10% on your order.

Hello, Diane with you today.
The holidays are getting closer and closer
and it is time to start thinking of making Christmas cards.

It's even easier to do when you join in our weekly challenges with us,
and it serves a dual purpose, a chance to win and another card done!

This week our challenge is Pretty Pink Christmas
using the inspiration photo.
I have to say I loved this photo as there were so many things to choose from.

I made a rather large card for that special someone!
I started with a white card base, added a piece of gold polka dot metallic paper,

Next, I embossed a panel with Peace On Earth
embossing folder on white card stock.
I love how you can trim an embossing folder to
just use pieces of it if you prefer.

I die cut a few Christmas Trees with Sue Wilson Winter Trees
from the Festive Collection.

The trees were then glittered with Spun Sugar Distress Glitter
Aren't they pretty?

The gorgeous deer were cut next from Pearlized  Esse White Metallic paper
using Sue Wilson Deer Family also from the Festive Collection.
I finished by adding a ribbon and bow.

Thanks for visiting with me today!!

Textures and Patterns at The Shabby Tea Room

Welcome!!
This week at The Shabby Tea Room it's all about
Textures and Patterns and using the inspiration photo below!

Our sponsor is Heather Hudson from

.
Make sure and pop on over to her Etsy shop
and check out all her digital collage sheets...
so many to choose from like the awesome one I used

My entire card was centered around the
digital playing card I mentioned above.

I used 6 different snippets of scrap Halloween
paper and adhered them down for my background.

I cut a black doily out of a metallic paper
using Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily die.
You know, this is the very first doily die I ever purchased?
Worth it's weight in gold if you ask me..lol!

I added a twisted piece of glittery tulle underneath and the
vintage "playing card" on top.
A glittered edge was added to the top
from my HUGE stash of Halloween supplies!

To keep in with the vintage look,
a bit of rick rack was added to the bottom with gems.

Cut a cute little tag included with the collage sheet,
added a bow, star button and it was done....

Head on over to The Shabby Tea Room,
join in our challenge with us and you could win
a gift certificate from My Artistic  Adventures yourself!!

Whole Lot of Shakin' Going On

There's a "whole lot of shakin' going on at the Hover home with these
Crafty Secrets Halloween Party shakers!!

These were super easy to make as I already had the "shaker parts"
constructed and just waiting to be used!

The shakers are made from a small round paper mache box
that I had already painted black and glued the lids on after adding rice
for the "shake".
The wood dowels were in place as well....
all I had to do was decorate.

I started by using circles cut from the vintage images
using Crafty Secrets Creating With Vintage Halloween CD #4
and

(backs)

After the circles were glued on front and back,
I added rick rack around each.

A paper trim was glued around each.

I wrapped ribbon around the dowel rods,
tied on tulle and various other ribbons
and I had myself fun Halloween Party Shakers!

and visit the Crafty Secrets store.....
always not only great products but a great sale going on too!!

Good Saturday morning to you,
Diane with you today on the blog.

I don't know about you,
but it seems the holidays are certainly creeping up on us!
From Thanksgiving on, I am super busy
and like to get my Christmas cards made way in advance if I can!

One of my newest dies purchased from the Classy Cards 'n Such
online store is one of the new Memory Box Distressed dies.
This one is called Distressed Snowdrift Collage.
Look at all the pretty and intricate details.
A tiny White Pearl was added to each full snowflake.

I stamped an image from Stampavie called Tobi's Dearest Deer
and colored it with my Tim Holtz Distressed Water Color Markers.
A bit of Diamond Stickles was added to the image.

Once dry, I popped the image up using Joy! Foam Pads Large.
To finish, I added a ribbon,
a tag tied with Doodle Twine from the Sweet Cakes Valentine Assortment,
a snowflake button that I topped with Silver Rock Candy.
