A Year of Peace

This is my post for challenge #65
at Classy Cards 'n Such using the inspiration photo below'

Hello Classy friends.
Diane here with you today and wishing you Peace On Earth
for the coming year.

This week at Classy Cards 'n Such
our challenge theme is Time For A New Year,
to use something new and add some glitter or bling
(all in good taste, of course)!!

It's funny how you can get an idea in your head
then  completely go in another direction,
which is what I did with this card!!

I used that as the entire base of my card.
I die cut a Memory Box Woodland Deer from
To his majestic antlers, I added Memory Box Precious Stars

To add a bit of color to the top, after rounding off the corners,
I cut my own sequins using My Favorite Things Sequins die
from the same Champaign Neenah Pearlized Metallic 105# card stock
I used for the deer.

Have a Safe and  Peaceful New Years everyone!!!

Winter Deer

Hello All!
Have you recovered from all the holiday hustle and bustle??
I know I have been enjoying my "freedom" as I call it
from the shopping, wrapping and cooking!!

I have a whole list of "paper crafting" resolutions for the New Year
I will be sharing with you at a later date!!

But for today, I have one last holiday/winter card to show you!!

I made this card using the beautiful Deer Digital stamp set from Crafty Secrets.
Now this set is for Christmas, however, I think it has several images that
very well could be used year round for that "man" in your life!!

I used my "ever present" Stardust Gelly Roll pen
on the birch trees, snowflakes and the entire edge of the card,
adding lots of wintery "sparkle"!!

I LOVE the background paper, which is also printed digitally

To finish my card I added a silver ribbon/bow and red bells!!

Don't forget "COMING SOON",  January 5th is our
Crafty Secrets January linky party
and our theme is "Pajama Party".
You won't want to miss it as each DT member has not only
an awesome project, but a tutorial as well!!
It is also a challenge for you to join in with us and show us YOUR creativity!

Also, some "breaking news" for you.

In The Mood for Flowers

Hi All.

This will be a super quick post, as I have to leave to help out a sick friend ASAP!
But, I wanted to get it in before the challenge "Anything Goes" at

I used all Cheery Lynn dies, including:
the leaves from
Stacker Flowers
Gardenia Strip
Gardenia Strip Small
Pinwheel Doily
Victorian Romance Flourish
and the little doily is from
Polynesian Sails Oval

I will be "back" later to finish up my post....
friendship calls!!
Okay...I am back....I used PanPastels to color my flowers.
I have told myself I will make MORE flowers in 2015,
setting aside a day each week, just for that!!
The image is from a vintage postcard
and the sheer ribbon I won awhile back!!

Birthday Blooms

Here is my post live on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog today!

How are you all this afternoon??
Busy I imagine with family and friends and the preparation  for Christmas Eve.
I know I will be somewhat relaxing and heading out later in the evening for
a candlelight service at our country, tiny church, one of my favorite things to do
for this Holiday!!

Well, even though you all are busy, Diane here with you  to share a card,
I hope you can take a minute and visit with us here today!!

I am done with all my Christmas cards and it's time for new things.
I created a birthday card using a card layout I saw on Pinterest that I loved!

Using a few papers from my own stash I created my backgrounds.
I added a scallop edge along my paper using Spellbinders Classic Edges One
which I embossed with Crafts Too Dots Embossing Folder.

The image is from JustRite Poppies Labels Twenty Nine and colored with Copics.
After the coloring was done, I used Spellbinders Heart Circles to cut it out.

The birthday sentiment at the top is from the

I finished my card with a bow and a button.

Thanks for stopping by and "Merry Christmas" everyone!!

My goodness, can you believe how fast December flew by??
We had our family Christmas on Sunday...and I am now a "free" woman..lol!!

I used the new digital Stamp Set "Deer Christmas" by Crafty Secrets!!
I love~love this new set.....
Though, I chose a strictly Christmas image for this card,
there are numerous other images that can
very easily be used all year long for "manly" cards!!

I used a beautiful background digital paper from the Vintage Retro Christmas CD5.
After printing my main image, I added a bit of "glimmer" to all the letters and holly
using a Stardust gelly roll pen by Sakura.

I die cut a few doves from silver glitter paper, added a sheer red bow and "voila" ,
A beautiful card is ready to mail!!!

Calling Santa

Well here we are just seven days or so away from "The Big Day"!!!
And what better time then now to "Call Santa" and make sure he knows
just what you want...lol!!!

That is where my card comes in to play today.....
A wonderful vintage image from Crafty Secrets Vintage Santa digital stamp set!!
Who do you suppose Santa is talking to on the other end of the phone...
could it be YOU telling him to bring more "papercrafts"!!

I especially LOVE vintage Santa images and this one
has that "old" look of a "real" Santa (of course Santa is real)!!!

For this card, I simply printed it in black ink, colored with a few Copics
and highlighted with lots of glitter....
nothing better in my book then vintage and glitter!!

The background paper is from the Crafty Secrets Retro Christmas CD
I added a bow and jingle bell and I have a card all ready to send out!!

Take a peek at the Crafty Secrets blog.

Ready For Santa

Here is my card posted for our
using the inspiration photo below!

Hello Classy friends!!!
Diane with you today with my last Christmas card
for "Classy Cards 'n Such" this year!
Sounds funny hearing that doesn't it and rather hard to believe
another year has almost come to an end!

But, at least today I can share a fun Christmas card!
I could of kept adding and adding to this card, but had to stop somewhere..lol!

I made a 5" square card and wanted a "wallpaper" look for my background,
so I chose paper from KaiserCraft On This Day 6 1/2" paper pad.
I love how this particular piece resembles wallpaper!

The fireplace was cut using the Classic Brick Fireplace from PoppyStamps.
Before I removed the die cut I used a few TH Distress Inks on the brick and mantel.
There are a few options for the fireplace inserts.
Because I didn't want poor Mr. Claus to get burned, I opted for the Fireplace Logs.
I backed the fireplace with a piece of black card stock to resemble the soot usually
seen in a real fireplace.

The adorable tiny stockings are Tiny Stockings by Memory Box.
The Christmas tree is the largest one from  Impression Obsession Fir Trees.
I added sequins to act as Christmas balls.
Did you know you can cut your own sequins using My Favorite Things Sequin Die?
This die cuts four sizes, I use it all the time.
The perfect material to use for the sequins is the Iris Sampler pack of Shimmer Sheetz.

We would love for you to join in our challenges with us.
There is always a wonderful prize available if we have enough entrants.
Hope to see your project there!!!

Good Morning!!

and our challenge theme is "Shabby Chic Holiday"
and using the inspiration photo below!!

I chose the cutest and easiest "Ornament Box" from our sponsor

and
A beautiful "Christmas Baubles" tag from

The box was very easy to construct.....the paper I used is from Crafty Secrets
I added a silver foil for the top of the ornament and decorated it with a bow and beads.

The Christmas Bauble I added glitter to the image and  a circle of glittery gems!

Wouldn't it be fun to receive a gift in this?

Head on over to "The Shabby Tea Room" and see what our guest designer and

Today is my last post at Dies Us Us  challenge blog for this year.....
Seems funny to be saying that....
But, I will be back "next year" with more creativeness.....

Our challenge this time around is "Anything Goes"
I decided to stay in the "winter/holiday" mode and
came up with my "Winter Scene".

If you have been watching my blog lately
you will have noticed I have been having fun with the "coloring on vellum" technique!
I think it just gives such a different look
and I seem to be a bit addicted to it right now...LOL.

I stamped my image from a stamp by Stampendous called "Snowy Postcard"
I love how it looks colored on the vellum!!

I also used some of the wonderful Stampendous "Frantage",
adding a snowy sparkle texture to my card.

I cut my image to fit the Cheery Lynn Designs Polynesian Sails Oval,
letting the holly "overhang" out the oval.

I used Memory Box Deer Trio and added a white glittery ribbon bow to finish.

Head on over to the Dies R Us challenge blog and see what the other "DRU" girls
have to show you, they are an amazing team to work with!!

Soft and Simple

Here is my post today at Classy Cards 'n Such!
And don't forget to join in our challenge, you can find it HERE

Hello Classy Friends.
Diane with you today sharing my Soft and Simple  card!

This was so easy to make, but I think it has a very clean and elegant look,
and also would make a gorgeous birthday or sympathy card as well.

Using a plain white card stock to build on, I embossed a panel with

The next panel was stamped using Impression Obsession Lavender stamp.
It was very easy to color, by using the marker to stamp technique,
which is, use your markers to color directly on your stamp,
huff on your stamp, then stamp and viola', a beautifully colored image!

I added a sheer ribbon and bow and tiny sequins to finish.

Each layer was popped up using Joy! Foam Pads Small.

Wishing You Warm Wishes

So how are you all doing??
Getting ready for the big day?
Feeling pressured or are you enjoying yourself?

I am feeling a bit of both...pressured and enjoying myself!!

Some of my enjoyment comes from being able to sit down a minute
and create a few things, one being this card I made for "Crafty Secrets"!!

Sandy has released some wonderful NEW digital stamp sets....
the hardest part is selecting which one to create with...
so I just printed off about eight new images and you will
see them all in the next 3 weeks!!!

I used the new "Deer Christmas digital stamp set" for this card..
It has 37 beautiful designs to select from!!
I chose the "Holly Wreath".
this picture shows some of the stamps Sandy "inverted"
to give you another idea of how to use them!!

I fussy cut it out, both inside and out after coloring it with my Copic markers.
I also added a lot of "clear star" bling from my Gelly Roll pen
on the holly leaves, bow and berries (hard to see, I know)
but it is there and adds a lot of shine to my wreath!!

Speaking of fussy cutting, I have a crafter kitty "Chloe"
that sits and observes everything I do each and every day..
it is fun having her in here with me, but she is also a bit of a "pain" at times,
as if I drop something it is fair game to her.
Once I made this beautiful Peony, left the room for a minute, only to come back
and finding her destroying it between her fat feet..lol!!

After fussy cutting it out,
I went back around with my green Copic pen and filled in any white showing.

The doily, and the image itself has been "popped" up for a 3D effect....
I added a few little red birds, some pearls and tied a jingle bell at the bow..
and the card does "jingle" when moved!!

Don't forget we have a monthly linky party challenge you can join in with us....

Holly Wreath Snowman Snow Globe

Well, here we are again with a new Friday challenge at
The theme is "Snowflakes and Ribbons" and our sponsor is
"Fresh Brewed Designs"

I used the cutest little snowman  digital stamp called "Holly Wreath Snowman".
I thought it was just perfect for a shaker card...
however, I think I might have gotten carried away with the sequins...
seems I put LOTS of them in..lol...
I also added some glitter, which you can only see "in person"!!

I cut a few snowflakes, and coated them with glitter
(now the cats, myself and the dog are all "sparkley" for Christmas!!

To finish off the card I made a beautiful bow tied with a glittered white jingle bell
which I purchased from Etsy several years ago!!

I encourage you to join in with us at the Fussy and Fancy challenge
and by all means visit and take a "peek" at all the beautiful inspiration pieces
the Fussy and Fancy Girls have to show you!!!
