Little Bluebird

Wanted to share my guest design post at the
Classy Cards 'n Such blog today....
I would love to have to go visit and leave me "some love" there..

Hello, it's Diane  today on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog
to share with you this super cute birdie card.
We still have some summer left and it felt like the kind of  day to create
a summery card and this cute stamp was perfect!

I don't know if you are familiar with Stampavie or not, but once you see them.
I know you will LOVE them as much as I do.
This little fellow is called Bird on a Branch
I made him  into a bluebird, I just love the pop of orange color on his belly
His butterfly "friend" is also part of the 2 piece stamp set.
I colored him in with Copics and added a teeny tiny lady bug made with
black and red Viva Pearl Pens..
A bit of Stickles was added to the center of the flowers..
The "frame" you see around him is a Cheery Lynn Designs die called Polynesian Sails Oval
This die is a wonderful buy, as inside is a small doily die, so when purchasing it,
it is like getting 2 dies for the price of one...what a bonus!!!
The polka dot paper you see (pretty isn't it?) is from the 6 x6 paper pad
by Simple Stories called Vintage Bliss
however, Beverly has several paper pads to choose from and is adding new ones all the time.
If you would like to give them a "peek", you can see them HERE

I finished off my card by making my own envelope with the "envelope punch board"
you just have to have one of these, they make over 60 super easy sizes of envelopes...
but I have to warn you, once you start making them, you don't want to stop!!
And it's a good way to use up some of those papers that you just don't know what to do with!

These can be lined (a hint is when you cut your paper (this one is cut 8 1/8" by 8 1/8"), you cut a
pretty piece of designer paper slightly smaller, maybe 8" to line the inside of the envelop
before you score and punch it.  You could also use double sided designer paper, and turn out
beautiful ones that way, too!
I made mine out of cardstock, then just somewhat outlined my stamp with a marker
and stamped it on the front!!

Some of the other items I used to make my card are:
1/2" Scor-tape

I hope you enjoyed my project today...and I will see you again soon!!
PS:  Don't forget you can get 10% off any purchase using my code DIANE-10

Glittery Fall Leaves

I have 2 posts for today...
I will be gone off my computer until Tuesday....

but I wanted to share this gorgeous glittery card I made
I used the Elizabeth Craft peel off stickers for this
if you are not familiar with them, they are a black outline
that you can apply to paper or sticky back paper and color, add glitter or just DS paper.

For my card I applied them to the scor-tape sticky paper.
then I mixed 5 different glitters for the first leaf, add a 6th color for the 2nd leaf

and for the last one I added a green glitter.....
I burnished the glitter in and hand cut each leaf out....

I love how they turned out...
but have to say I had glitter everywhere, even the dog was "sparkley"!!

I am entering this card in the challenge at Paper Crafters Corner Challenge #20
Magazine Monday
to use this magazine cover for inspiration...
I focused on the bold, black outlines, the coral fall color and the word fall itself.....
Now make sure look at my other post for today too, I am guest designing for
Classy Cards 'n Such today!!

It's A Clean and Simple Banner Day At JustRite

Can you believe how the month of August has flown by??
It seems the days just keep getting shorter and shorter...
I love the fall, but I am not looking forward to winter
and the Farmer's Almanac says we are to have a cold, brutal winter...
all I can say is "ugh"!!!

We are heading out tomorrow for a little much needed R&R
so am not sure how much will get posted on my blog for a few days...

But I saw the challenge at JustRite for a clean and simple sketch

and had purchased the JustRite Bunting and Banner stamp
set and Matching Spellbinders dies
so I just had to enter.....

This is a BIG card, as I wanted to use the entire banner...
in fact, the banners are two different ones, one stacked on the other with pop ups
it is really more 3D then it looks...

I stamped the happy birthday on pink SU satin ribbon
the little "flower" stack is 3 of the button dies and stamps from the same set
as well as the sentiment....
It is such a large card that is was hard to keep it clean and simple....

Getting a Jump On Christmas

I wanted to share with you my post that is up over on
You can receive a 10% discount off your entire order
if you use the code DIANE-10 at checkout
The link is on the top right of my sidebar..
I would love/appreciate you going to the blog and leaving me some "love"!

Hello there friends!!
I have a fun project to share with you today using some Christmas dies.
Making my own Christmas tags has always been a favorite way of mine
to use up those scraps of card stock, papers and ribbons....
It's fast, it's fun and it's fun to hear the ohs and ahs when the gifts are handed out.

For the Christmas tree tags, I got a bit creative and used the Cheery Lynn Designs
Tannenbaum Tree, by cutting off the two lower branches, making it a perfect size for my tags.

My next group of tags uses the Memory Box Deer Trio die.
I just cut the deer apart and used each one separately .
Notice the red pearl on the nose of the one deer...cute!!

For the tree line I used Poppy Stamps Pine Tree Border.
I cut one border and it made all three tags!!
My last three tags were made with one of the beautiful Cheery Lynn Designs
dies called Snowflowers set 2...just the name alone got my attention to buy it.
There is also a Snowflowers set 1 with 3 more different snowflakes!
That's all until I see you again soon!!

Winter
Well, here we are at the end of the hop...
I had so much fun with my friends creating these dolls.....

I will miss it, however, I will be making several more I am sure!

I struggled with the "winter" theme this week....
only because I had so many ideas, many more ideas then time!

I thought this Prima looked like she was thinking "brrr"
and decided to make a giant Christmas tag with her....
my first idea was non traditional Christmas colors and skates...
that one will come later....
I made her "sweater" out of cordinations...I thought by sanding it
it would give it more of a sweater look...
and of course she has to have a "glitzy" skirt.....
the snowflakes are both TH Alterations dies.....

the big snowflake behind her is from SU.....
The paper I have been using for my dolls is Prima Ledger..

I have enjoyed you visiting me and appreciate your comments...
I am trying to make my way around to your blogs, too.
My winning name will be posted on the 30th....
look for your name and email me...
my email is on the right side bar...
I will be gone after the winner is announced til the 3rd...

Back To School

Well, it's just about time for the kiddos here in Michigan to go back to school....
So, I decided to do a cute little "school" card to send out to wish them the best...

And it just so happened I came across this cute little magazine front cover challenge
at Paper Crafter's Corner, did you know they do a weekly challenge there
using the front covers of magazines...how fun!!

Here is this weeks cover

and here is my card.....

I embossed my card stock with NBUS (never before used stuff...lol)
a fun embossing folder from the paper studio.....
the smiley face is another NBUS stamp from Reflections
I colored my star brads (they were cream color) with Sharpie markers...
the chalkboard is a clearance item from Hobbylobby (ATC's)
and I used my new chalk marker from SU for the "math"

I "borrowed" a crayon cover from the grandkids color box
and stamped my "ruler" from a free stamp set I got with a magazine...

so, I think it turned out kind of cute and different for me....

French Pastry Doily

I know I have mentioned this before, but I LOVE
the Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry Doily!!
I have several of their doily dies and love them all,
but this one is still my favorite...isn't it gorgeous cut out of
that pretty My Minds Eye paper??  Love...love!!

I like the layout of this card...simple, I really wanted to focus on that
beautiful doily!!
My butterfly is one of my very old stamps...heck it is so wore out
it is hard to get it to stamp in places!!
I used Versa mark and embossed it twice, once in pink and then in gold!!

I am entering this in the challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs this week which is "doilies"
and the challenge at City Crafters which is use 1 stamp 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments.

Handmade Vellum Flowers

I feel good...
I am finally getting into the challenges again...
I have only been able to do a few...
and I love to do them...

I haven't done a Joan's Gardens challenge for quite sometime...
the challenge this week is:
Make 3 Vellum flowers
colors golden yellow and violet
mesh or tulle
and stencil on paper
and an item purchased from Joan's Gardens
Whew!!!  Now that is what I call a challenge!!!

I adhered my "tulle" to my cardstock with a spray adhesive I just recently purchased
from Joan's gardens called E6000...
it sticks real good, but you have to work fast as it dries very fast!!
Then I used some Martha Stewart Stencils and Tim Holtz Tea Dye Ink
and stenciled right over the tulle for my background
I added a beautiful piece from Graphic 45's Secret Garden paper pad
(also purchased from Joan's Gardens.

My vellum flowers were cut out with a TH Alterations Tattered Flower die
(also purchased from Joan's Gardens)
I edged them with stickles for some "glitz".
The leaves are from a Heartfelt die and covered with a "new to me" product
by Art Anthology called Dimensional Crystal in a "Pickle" color
it is the neatest stuff and I have it on order from Joan...

This week we are doing "fall".....
Well, I have to tell you, when you see this weeks project
it might scare you...lol!!
I had a ball making these!!

I love the look of vintage Halloween,
so this is where I headed with this one
I used 3 of the Prima tags and tied them together with twine
I covered each tag front and back with Halloween DS paper

I LOVE the paper the best on the first doll,
it is sort of a Halloween toile
and look at her legs....spiders...love it...love it!!

The second one is my witch girl,
the trim on her dress is from last years
Halloween clearance at Michaels..
see all those little mice at her feet???  EEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!
Where is her black cat when she needs it???
Oh wait, there it is, right next to her on the first tag!!!

And then we come to my bat girl...eerie, isn't she
but don't be frightened, it's only a "mask"...lol!!
I love her netting under her dress and her polka dot legs..
On the back I used the Tim Holtz Alterations "small easel" die
on each tag to stand them up!!

So now you need to head to my "teamies" "friends"
and see their stunning creations...

I love it, its loaded with little images!!
The cardstock is some new from SU called Pistachio..such a pretty color

Halloween Shoes & Shoe Box

Back In April I had gone to a workshop at Joan's Gardens
 and she had
just received some of her new winter CHA items....
one of the items were the new Brenda Walton Sizzix Bigz dies....

When I saw the "ballroom slippers" I just had to have it....

This is the first time I have really had the time to play with it....

I decided to make a pair of Halloween shoes to display with my other Halloween décor....
I have a ton of Halloween stamps, papers and such
, but last year I hardly used any of it....
so it was fun to get an early start !!

There is a "youtube" about making a box for these shoes by
 "Live Love Scrap"
and they are super easy to make.....
the only thing I learned about the shoe itself is,
if using the heel, you need to place it
in further from the back to make it stand up better.....
I made the flowers on the shoe with ribbon
and I know it is hard to tell,
but I added a bat on a wire coil in the middle
of the flower!
The star on the box is a paper mache one that I
painted back and then added glitter.....

I am entering this in the challenge at
to "make the cut"
meaning use dies, punches, etc.....

Cute Owl Birthday

My little great niece turned one today!!
Her entire little bedroom is decorated with cute owls...

I saw this super cute owl card on Pinterest and cased it from HERE
where she cased it from HERE ..... what a "hoot"

I changed it a bit as time would allow
(considering) I made it an hour before I was to leave for the party

I didn't have time to do the cute inside,
but would not hesitate to do another

I also noticed as she was opening it, I had forgot to put the little pompoms on the hats
I am so glad this creative week is over and will hopefully get it "together" next week..geez!!

I am entering this in the Simon Says Monday challenge
to use a die cut or punch....
I used my SU owl and banner punch
SU circle punch
and a Sizzix leaf die

Seize The Sketch #1

I found a brand new sketch challenge "Seize The Sketch"....
I don't do a lot of sketch challenges as I am not very good at them, sigh....
But I thought, why not give it a try for a change.....

My first thought was "washi tape....
and a pinwheel I had already made up.....

It is kind of plain on top, but I thought it was busy enough
without embossing the top portion...

Okay, and I have to admit, AFTER I had it all done, I got the bright idea to
distress it.....rather hard as the cardstock was already adhered....
oh well, I kind of, sort of like it!!

Now if I was really into confessions, I would tell you what really happened...
First I had a spider web designer paper adhered to the black cardstock,
added the washi, but it messed with the washi designs...
so I pulled it off and covered it with white cardstock and redid the washi
much better .......card was done,
and I thought, I think I will stamp some bats flying off the top edge...
bad idea...
they looked terrible...
now what to do??
so I added another piece of white cardstock on top to cover them up...
ugh....,adhered and not lined up perfectly...
so instead of crying (like I wanted to)....
I got the old Tim Holtz distress tool out...
it saved it...sort of...lol..
So that has been my creative day...not so good!!!

But I am working on some "better" projects for tomorrow!!

Hi There, it's Diane here today  on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog
to share with you this gorgeous Sunflower card.
I love all the wonderful selection of dies we can choose to create with, don't you?
For todays project I made a 6 x 6 card, yes it's a big one, but I wanted to
showcase those gorgeous Cheery Lynn Designs Sunflowers.
As I mentioned in another post, I LOVE the Twinkling H2Os, and that is
what I colored my Sunflowers with using the "Autumn Brilliance" set.
The H2Os give such a pretty shimmery look to the petals..
Behind the flowers you see a Cheery Lynn Designs "Fanciful Flourish"

this is one of those dies you will use over and over again.
The background vintage barn board paper is from the 6 x 6 paper pad
by Simple Stories called "Vintage Bliss"
and see the little "Sunshine" bingo card?
It's from the same paper pad!
Here is a close up of the flowers, I wanted you  to see how gorgeous the centers cut!!

A few other items I used in creating my card are:
Empty Spritzer Bottle (you need this to "spritz your H2Os)
Scor-Tape

I am entering this in the challenge at Papercraft Star
Thanks for looking and I will "see you" soon!!

So what do you say?  Ready for some fun??

Welcome to week 2 of our Prima Paper Doll Blog Hop
(missed week one?..there is still time... go here)
As mentioned, our theme is "Seasons"
and this week it is "Summer".

For my summer project I chose to create a canvas...

I mixed two shades of blue paint and spritzed them with stamp cleaner....
it gave a "washed" look to the colors....
I used a star negative for a stencil and some bubble wrap for my background...
Sand paper was used at the bottom to achieve a "sandy" beach....
I mod podged a piece of paper onto the canvas, added a sailboat
I stamped with a Unity stamp, and some rub on's...
the doll herself was stamped on Prima ledger paper,
I rubbed some Pebbles cream chalks for her skin tones...
her dress was paper pieced......

glitter was added here and there for some sparkle...

To me, summer also makes me think of all the county fairs....

I had to make a tag and went with a county fair theme.....
Again, her body was stamped on Prima Ledger paper and rubbed with Pebbles cream chalks
I paper pieced her dress from a denim look paper...
her cowgirl hat, boots, rope and saddle are all from a sticker set....
the grand prize ribbon I made using a Tim Holtz rosette Alterations die...
I used chalkboard paper a new, just arrived today SU chalk pen
for my country fair sign.....

Hope you have enjoyed these creations this week...
and now you need to hop on along and see the lovely creations
from the other girls!!!
here is the list for you.....
